Tisha B'Av Gathering with IfNotNow, Main Line Jewish Justice Collective, and Never Again Action
With the calamity of fascism in the United States including the persecution of migrants, along with the disaster of apartheid and genocide in Israel/Palestine, there is a lot to grieve in these times. On Tisha B'Av, a day for remembering the calamities that have befallen the Jewish people as a result of baseless hatred (sinat chinam), we in IfNotNow Philly, Main Line Jewish Justice Collective, and Never Again Action are holding space for the heart to safely break.
We are gathering for reflection and inspiration to action in the evening on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at an outdoor location in Lower Merion Township. The exact location, which is close to public transportation, will be sent to those who register.
Can't attend this event? We also endorse the action with Rabbis for Ceasefire in Center City at 5:30 PM same day.
The event is on flat though unpaved ground. While we are not currently planning to have sound amplification, the environment is not expected to have much noise.
Ian Lustick in Conversation with Shadi Hamid: Israel's Lobby and American Politics
Join Us for Ian Lustick in conversation with Shadi Hamid as they discuss Professor Lustick’s new book: timely conversation about the power of the Israel lobby, American democracy, and Israel-Palestine—and how invocations of Jewish safety can silence advocacy for Palestinian rights while serving far-right interests that most American Jews don’t share.
Evening with Molly Crabapple
Author of Here Where We Live Is Our Country: The Story of the Jewish Bund will be in conversation with Kim Kelly at the Philadelphia Ethical Society.
